X-23Real Name: Laura Kinney Father: James Howlet (Logan, Wolverin, X-man) AKA: Theme Song: "We Don't Care Anymore" by Story of the Year
Larua's Origin: Dr. Kinney is able to isolate the clonning process' problem as a broken Y chromosome in the in the blood sample taken from Logan. Because of the damaged Y chromosome Dr. Kinney is only successful in creating a female clone of Wolverine. Though her healing factor is at the same rate as her genetic father the project refranes from grafting her entire skeleton wanting to move along with the project as soon as possible. It would be pointless coating a prepubecent body with an ungrowing metal and as a result they only lace her claws with the indestructable metal. They also add a set of artificial blades to her feet. Satisfied with the project, training begins immediately and X-23 is trained not as a person or even an animal. Only as a weapon. She is given very strict rules on human contact limitiing her visits to training and medical inspections only. This life of death and destruction begins to take it's tole on Laura's mother who decides to finally break her away from this life. Decieving the head of the project Dr. Rice Laura is given a mission by her mother to break free from the hold the facility has on her. In the process of escape she will kill Dr. Rice and destroy the future X clones they planned on making after X-23 was obsolite. However, tragedy strikes as Laura completes her mission and meets up with her mother. Dr. Rice and planted X-23's trigger scent (a scent that sets X-23 off into an uncontrolable rage) on Sarah. X-23 in a blind rage Laura kills her own mother. After fatally wounding her "target" Laura returns to her normal state horrified at what she had just done. With her dying breath she reveals to X-23 that her real name is Laura and hands a picture of Wolverine, Prof Charles Xavier and the Xavier Institute. X-23 spends her new life on the streets of New York working as a prostitute for a pimp named Zebra Daddy. The low-life pimp used her on his more prestigiuous clients with a kink for being cut, a specialty X-23 had perfected in her life growing up. This relationship subsequently ended with Laura tearing him apart after threatening her and a few mutant friends she had made earlier. After that she finally decided to track down her relatives, (her aunt and her cousin) to hopefully live a normal life with them. This proved impossible as Weapon X's handler Kimura showed up and tried to kill her family and take X-23 back to the facility. Luckily X-23 was able to defeat Kimura and hid her family away deciding tearfully, never to see them again so they could live. Finally this brought her journey to the Xavier Institute and her genetic father Wolverine. She tries to kill him and herself in the resulting scrap believing they have no place in this world as mere weapons. Wolverine is able to calm her and convince her to join the Institute. After a long deliberation, she agrees and joins the New X-men. This group of young mutants was the last group of students to retain their mutant powers after M-Day, a day in which 98% of the mutant population lost their mutant X-Gene. Laura was not well received at the X Mansion at first as her fellow students feared her as the weapon she was built to be. Co-Headmaster Emma Frost was also skeptical of her being part of the student body given her dangerous tendancies. In her awkward transition Laura did manage to find friendship in her roommate Sooraya Qadir (codename Dust) who was also alienated for her strict muslim beliefs. Her place on the team was signified when she risked her life against and newly formed Nimrod to save her teammates. Shortly after this the team decided to reach out to her more and accept her. Cessily Kincaid (codename Mercury) was the first to reach out and befriend X-23. Julian Keller (codename Hellion) even developed a crush on her. Though she began to find her place in the X-men it wouldn't last. Kimura brought down the hammer once again, this time endangering her new friends as well as her friend Mercury. Cessily was kidnapped by the facility and put through horrible experimentation so they could graft her liquid metal skin into a weapon. Though X-23 and fellow New X-man Hellion were able to free her the experiments and torture Cessily endured left her broken and traumatized. This event prompted Laura to retreat from her life once again much to the dismay of Headmistress Frost who had realized the mistake in her earlier accusations. Still Laura decided it was best to move on and no longer endanger her new family. Her journey has now broght her... to Anime City.
